Opening a COME Link inside Another App

A messaging or social app can open a link in its own browser view. Identify that view before downloading, and use a normal browser deliberately if the interface offers that option.

Recognise the browsing surface

Look at the controls around the page. An embedded browser may have a close button that returns to the original app, while your normal browser has its own tabs and Downloads list. This difference affects where you find navigation and saved-file information.

The page's content can look similar in both surfaces. Identify the app handling the page rather than assuming the same logo means the same browser process. That helps explain why a file is not visible in another browser's history.

Move to a normal browser only when appropriate

If the embedded view offers Open in browser or a similar action, use it deliberately and verify the destination in the browser that opens. The option and wording vary by app. Do not follow a guessed menu sequence when your screen does not offer it.

Opening the page in another browser changes where you continue; it does not prove the file was already transferred. Check the new page's available Android option and start a single intentional transfer if needed.

Keep downloads in one place

Watch the browser's Downloads list for the transfer you start. If an earlier embedded view also started a download, identify its status before creating another. Similar filenames across apps can make it difficult to know which file completed and from which source.

Do not treat a suffix such as (1) as a release number. Use the source, offered version, time and completion status to identify the package. A copy saved by one app is not automatically listed in another browser's Downloads screen.

Read Android's named source

If Android presents an installation-source permission, read which browser or file app it names. That permission belongs to the application presenting the package. It is not blanket approval for every browser installed on the phone.

Only consider proceeding when you recognise the intended source and understand the prompt. Keep Play Protect enabled and stop at harmful-app warnings. Moving between browsers is not a way to bypass a device protection decision.

Account and referral context still matter

When the service opens, return to the intended account. A browser change can affect which session is active, so read the account screen rather than assuming you are signed in. Installation and account access are separate tasks.

A referral reward also follows its stated account milestones, not the number of browsers used to open a link. Preserve the legitimate invitation route and do not treat duplicate transfers as additional qualifying actions.

A clear finish check

You should know which browser holds the page, whether it saved a completed package and which app Android names as the source. If any of those are unclear, resolve them before allowing an installation or entering account information.

Know when to stop

Continue once the browser, destination and completed file are clear. Stop at unexplained source changes or protection warnings instead of granting permissions across several apps.
